Obviously, I’ve been taking a break from writing and enjoying reading. If you have not read any books by Daniel Quinn, I’d suggest you at least read Ishmael and then My Ishmael. Those two are my favorites. They changed the way I think. They might change you too.

Anyway, I’m so glad my favorite TV shows are back! Right now I’m loving Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and Secret Circle.

Final Draft!

I believe I’m down to the final draft of Mage Surprise. After I’m through going through it, I’ll publish it.

Also, I’m thinking of where to take my story after that. I’ve got some ideas . . .

Wow. It’s nearly March, and I haven’t updated the site. I’m still working on Mage Surprise. I think one more draft should do it so I’m still looking at a spring release. In the meantime, I know they are kids’ books, but do check out the How To Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. They are absolutely perfect.

Corrections to Suicide Surprise and Vampire Surprise have been made, and the files have been updated on Kindle and CreateSpace. I’m currently editing Mage Surprise and am looking at a Spring 2011 release.

I also discontinued my Lulu editions because they are too expensive to sell. So right now my paperbacks are $8.99 each on Amazon and the ebooks are $2.99 on Amazon Kindle.

September Update

I am still rereading my first two novels in preparation for proofing the third.

And, yes, I’m still finding typos. Ouch.

Anyway, did you catch Vampire Diaries last week? It was so mean. Yummy.

Also, as a project for work, I finished reading my first “urban lit” or “street novel.” I had tried to read one of these books twice before, but in both cases I couldn’t make it through their first chapters. However, I must say that Deja King’s book Bitch Reloaded was an enjoyable read. It moved fast and kept me guessing, which is all anyone can ask for in pleasure reading. I can see why people love these books. Fun.

Late July Update

I received the first hard copy draft for book three, Mage Surprise. But before I work with that, I’m actually going to go back and read books one and two to check my mythology. Of course, I’ve already found more dreaded typos and will fix those in future printings (oh I how I love POD).

Now, to make it perfectly clear, typos make me sick. Really sick. Many of you come to expect massive amounts of typos from us self-published writers, and I hate to be stereotypical of a self-published writer. I really do.

Excuse me for a moment while I have an existential crisis.

O.K. I’m done.

Anyway, on another note, I just finished reading Night Life by Nancy Collins. I really liked it and look forward to the next in the series. I like that the Vamps series vampires are mean (not all the time, of course). That makes them seem, well, more like vampires.

And we all like that don’t we?
